Sunrise Las Vegas Desert Anniversary Session

Here’s the thing about sunrise: it’s heckin’ early.

Here’s the other thing about sunrise: it’s heckin’ pretty.

These two got married in late 2019 in the wake of a medical emergency. They knew they wanted to be together forever, but just in case, they made it legal. Thankfully, all was well, but then this little thing happened in early 2020, so they were never able to have a formal wedding or even take a honeymoon.

Cut to 2021, and Conner decides to surprise Shelby with a trip to Vegas, complete with an awesome photo shoot! Conner had heard that the Seven Magic Mountains may be taken down at the end of 2021, so he didn’t want to wait too long to do these photos. Because of the way the timing worked out with their trip, we ended up photographing together early in the morning for sunrise. And y’all, my whole life changed that morning because of how stunning this sunrise was!!

For reference, we never get clouds in Vegas. It’s just super rare to not see a clear sky, especially in late-summer. But this one particular morning, we were given such an incredible show by Mother Nature!

Conner and Shelby had landed in Vegas super late the night before, but you’d never know they were borderline sleep-deprived because of how much fun they clearly had in their photos. This shoot kicked off their trip, which they lovingly referred to as their honeymoon, since this was the first trip they were really able to take together as a married couple!

You’ve probably seen my other photos at Seven Magic Mountains where there are no people in the background. Obviously you know by now that I’ve done a lot of Photoshop to those photos, but I didn’t have to do that with these photos because there was legitimately no one there! It made editing these photos a million times easier, so honestly, I’m down for more sunrise sessions!
