Dressing for a Las Vegas Photoshoot | Portrait outfit inspiration
When Elise and Nate were gifted a stay in Vegas after their wedding, they decided to dive in to the Las Vegas wedding experience with fun couple’s portraits in the Arts District. This session was so fun, and what a way to celebrate!
Elise and Nate had two of the cutest, funkiest outfits that they also wore for their rehearsal dinner, and it made me think about how often couples tell me they can’t figure out what the heck to wear! TBH, your rehearsal dinner clothes are such a great idea — a little wedding-y but still casual enough to be fun and flirty. Let’s take a close look at Elise and Nate’s outfits and chat about choosing the right outfit:
The first thing that made these two lovebirds’ outfits so perfect was how well they fit their personalities. The sleeves of Elise’s dress will be in my dreams forever! And the retro design was the perfect complement to Nate’s colorful suit with a patterned shirt. (Heads-up on a big photography no-no, by the way: don’t wear patterns that clash with each other on yourself or your partner!)
Next up is dressing for the occasion. If you’re dropping some dough on a professional photoshoot, it’s worth dressing up a little! Eloping in front of friends and family? Pull out your best dress! Headed to the desert for adventurous couples portraits? Find a fit that’s casual-comfy but still looks fly.
Another big deciding factor is your preferred comfort level, not just in clothes but in front of the camera, too! Some people have confidence out the wazoo (I’m not jealous! No way! Haha ha ha….) and take the opportunity to go all out with a fabulous look. But if you’re nervous in front of the camera, you may be better off choosing something you feel good in instead of worrying about how you look the whole time. Take my word for it: the more comfortable and relaxed you feel, the happier you’ll be with your pictures!
Anyway, enough of my rambling! If you learned anything from this post (besides how obsessed I am with Elise and Nate’s outfits) I hope it’s that you can make your photos whatever you want, especially with me. And honestly, the spunkier the better! If you want some more advice on outfits or anything to do with Las Vegas photoshoots, send me a message using the button below!
