Five Questions you Should ask your Photographer if you’re Planning a Wedding During a Pandemic
By now you’ve read the top five questions you should ask the photographers you interview before hiring them. This is a great place to start when you’re doing those preliminary interviews. Once you’ve narrowed down your list of potential photographers, you may want to think about the whole panini thing that’s going on, especially as new variants become more prevalent.
So here are the top five questions for your wedding photographer that pertain to planning during a pandemic.
What happens if you get sick?
You should feel confident knowing that your photographer has multiple backup plans ready to go, just in case sh*t hits the fan. Who would step in in their place? Does their second photographer become the primary? Who becomes the second?
What precautions are you taking to avoid getting sick?
Are they vaccinated? Are they wearing masks? Do they disinfect regularly? Do they go out to the Las Vegas strip every single night? These are all questions they should be able to answer for you!
Are you comfortable photographing our wedding with such a big guest count?
What if your photographer is immunocompromised or higher risk? Are they okay being around 100+ people that may have traveled in for your wedding?
What can we do to make your job easier?
Maybe they’d love to have a separate table to eat during the reception. Maybe you could present them with mini hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes the morning of the wedding.
If we have to postpone because of shutdowns, what happens to our contract?
By now, your photographer should have a postponement and rescheduling plan in place. Knowing this plan will keep your worries at ease. Honestly, I doubt another shutdown would happen, but who knows at this point!
I’m sure there are other questions that may be at the top of your mind, but this is just a great place to start that conversation. Ultimately, you should feel at ease, knowing that you’ll be taken care of, no matter what happens. Openness and transparency will help all of us navigate the wildness in this precedented time, as things are changing so often.
