Tips on Choosing a Getting Ready Space
Choosing the perfect wedding getting ready space can be a fun and exciting part of wedding planning. Here are some tips to consider when choosing the perfect wedding getting ready space:
Location: Choose a getting ready space that is conveniently located near your wedding venue. This will save you time and stress on the day of your wedding.
Size: Make sure the space is large enough to accommodate you and your bridal party comfortably. You will need enough space for hair and makeup artists, photographers, and any family members or friends who will be joining you.
Lighting: Choose a space with natural light if possible. This will help your hair and makeup artists to create the perfect look for your big day, and will also help your favorite photographer (me!) to capture beautiful photos.
Privacy: Look for a getting ready space that offers privacy, especially if you have a large bridal party. You want to be able to relax and enjoy getting ready without any distractions.
Amenities: Look for a getting ready space that offers amenities like a kitchen, bathroom, and comfortable seating. You will want to have snacks, drinks, and a place to relax before the ceremony.
Aesthetics: Choose a space that fits your wedding style and aesthetic. If you are having a rustic wedding, for example, you may want to choose a getting ready space that has a barn or farmhouse feel.
Cost: Finally, consider the cost of the getting ready space. Make sure it fits within your budget, and that there are no hidden fees or charges.
Most commonly, couples will opt for a getting ready space in or near their ceremony venue, like a hotel room. If you choose to get ready in your hotel room, make sure you have plenty of space for everyone, plus the hair and makeup artists. I recommend either two conjoining rooms, or a big suite!
