Tips for a Great Engagement Photoshoot | The Venetian Engagement Session

Hey, folks! It’s time for my regularly scheduled PSA on making the most of your engagement photos! There’s lots of little details that couples don’t know or don’t think about, but since I do these gigs all the time, trust me when I say you should come prepared!

First up, choose an outfit you look and feel good in - keep in mind that many of these pictures will feature the two of you facing me, each other, and away (with a few twirls thrown in for fun) so check your outfit from all angles! Wear what you feel the most comfortable in, but also consider that a professional photoshoot sure is a good reason to get dressed up to the nines. How many other times do you get the chance?

Decide on a location you’ll love. Keena and Miles saw one of my past sessions at the Venetian and knew the grand architecture and secret nooks would be perfect for them. If you’re looking for more of the best photoshoot locations in Las Vegas, check out more of my previous posts below!

Next, get into the details like hair and makeup. Consider getting this professionally done. After all, you’re already splurging on a photoshoot — go all out and get pampered! If you know you can smash the look on your own, practice it a few times and know that makeup sometimes looks different on camera. Pro tip: remember to bring touch-up products in case we get some Vegas heat!

Last is one of the most fun: Bring props! These are a super cool way to make your session unique to you. This could be tickets to a show from your first date or a fun, custom newspaper like Keena and Miles brought!

There are lots of ways to make your engagement session great, but if you only do one thing coming into your session, let it be this: show up in love, and your pictures will tell your story flawlessly. I can’t wait to capture it!
