If you’ve never been to Red Rock, then it needs to be in your plans for the future. When most people think of a trip to Las Vegas, they imagine the legendary entertainment, the iconic and risky-rewardy nightlife, and, of course, getting hitched (my personal favorite)! But what so many people miss out on is just how beautiful Nevada is. Red Rock is the perfect example! If you’re looking for scenic sights near Las Vegas, I freaking love this place, so I say put it on your bucket list right. NEOW.

Not to be confused with Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado for all my out-of-towners, Red Rock Canyon is a national conservation area that offers a scenic 13-mile drive and incredible hiking trails. Plus, they organize lectures from expert speakers, host and honor native tribal ceremonies and celebrations on a regular basis, and make a true effort toward conservation and education at all levels. Beyond being an incredible organization that we are so lucky to have next door, Red Rock is just plain beautiful. I mean, come on! When they say pictures don’t do It justice, they mean it! I got to visit for the umpteenth time recently for this engagement photoshoot and, just like every other time, I was a little breathless looking at the landscape behind their beautiful smiles.

Okay — enough of my romantic ramblings over this place and on to the important part: Katy and Robbie! This newly-engaged couple reached out to me for engagement pictures at Red Rock and I was so happy to do it!

These two lovebirds met in college in a classic student-and-tutor love story during their Anatomy & Physiology courses. Robbie popped the question at Talleyrand Park in Bellefonte, PA, close to two years after one of their first dates at this very same park! (Cue the live audience saying ““Awwwww”)! While they currently live in Pennsylvania, they plan to relocate to Las Vegas in the future. I sure hope they do, if only so they can revisit this beautiful place and remember all the love-filled memories they made here!
