Adventurous Waterfall Anniversary Session in Hawaii

This session solidified it for me: Hawaii is one of my most favorite places on this planet.

Alyssa and Christian and have that special kind of love. The way these two just glow around each other is incomparable. Having been married for a few years already, it was time for some super sweet anniversary photos in the place they made their home – Oahu, Hawaii. The two set off to move back to New York shortly after, so I’m forever thrilled we were able to connect for their photos before that.

Side note: highly recommend a swimming suit and some Chacos for this hike. It was super steep and a bit muddy at times, so the grip those shoes give you helps so much!

This waterfall… this was a workout! We definitely earned every single french fry we chowed down on after this session. We started out in this secluded park area with a swimming hole nearby, walked a mile to this meadow, hiked up this huge, secret mountainside, and popped out where the waterfall cascaded down the cliffside. Don’t get me wrong. I know I summarized it so easily, but this was tough! But clearly, every step was worth it. And in the spirit of preserving the wilderness that is Hawaii as much as possible, only my clients get to know about this spot!

Even though I’m a Las Vegas wedding photographer, I’m actually in Hawaii frequently for weddings and engagement or anniversary sessions! So if you’re thinking about eloping or proposing or just want some cool photos in a waterfall, I know a place!
