Romantic Botanical Garden Engagement Session

Kris and Ralph were one of the first couples I was lucky enough to photograph here in Vegas. We all climbed at the same rock climbing gym, which is how our paths crossed. Kris contacted me about doing a session for the two of them as an anniversary celebration. They had been together for TEN. FREAKIN’. YEARS. by the time we had this session. And to top it all off? This was their first professional photo session together! What an honor for me, right??

Kris and I discussed where they wanted to hold their session and finally settled on the lovely Springs Preserve. You’d never know you’re in the middle of Downtown Las Vegas, but this beautiful nature sanctuary fits nicely into the environment. These two snuggled and danced their way through the entire park as the sun set into the afternoon sky. It got a little chilly at times, but thankfully “chilly” in Las Vegas means 60 degrees.

These two originally planned a February 2021 wedding, but with Kris’s job as a nurse taking up a lot of her time (and this weird little event that happened in 2020… called a… pandemic? maybe you’ve heard of it), they pushed back their plans for a while. When you’ve already been together for ten years and you know you’ve found your forever person, what’s the rush in getting married?
