Las Vegas Elopement | Chapel + Desert Celebration

Best random Tuesday ever.

Katie and Tom are a match made in heaven... or Toledo, Ohio. These two met online at the start of the panini press, and they knew pretty quickly that they had each met their match. The thing about relationships that started during the pandemic – you know pretty quickly if this person is your forever. At least, that’s what all of my pandemic couples have said. With having to spend so much time together during quarantine, you figure it out pretty quickly!

Katie and Tom were engaged for maybe all of 3 days before they got married. They had just started the home buying process when they contacted me about their Las Vegas elopement. So yes, they weren’t engaged when we booked. Honestly? Not that uncommon anymore! When you know, you know!

A few months later, these two closed on a new house together, and Tom proposed to Katie privately during their housewarming party. The next day, they packed their bags and headed to Las Vegas. At the time of saying “I do,” the only people who knew about their elopement were in the room, watching them commit to forever!

These two stayed at the Cosmopolitan, which is one of my favorite hotels on the Strip. We headed over to the fine folks at Sure Thing Chapel, where Heidi was ready to pronounce these two husband and wife! They exchanged vows, rings, and tears before making it official in front of a pink neon heart. We celebrated with some vintage photo booth pictures before waltzing around Fremont Street for a few “just married” photos.

Soon, we piled up into my Subaru and headed out to the dry lakebed on the outskirts of Las Vegas. This is the part of their elopement day that was my personal favorite, and their post-wedding celebration encompasses what it means to elope – to say goodbye to tradition and do what feels right to you two! We started their evening with their first dance – “2step” by Ed Sheeran – played on a Bluetooth speaker as the sun set behind them. We sat down for a donut picnic with some champagne before soaking up the sunshine and getting some incredible photos of these two. When it was dark enough, we packed back up and headed to the Cosmopolitan on the Strip for some fun nighttime photos, where these two were gifted their first shots as husband and wife by a sweet passerby.

They jetted off afterward to make their dinner reservations, and I headed home to edit their sneak peeks!

If you’re ready to say later days to tradition and elope the way YOU want to, get in touch, and let’s create your perfect day!
