Romantic Rainy Black Friday Wedding

I met Stephanie in college at Mizzou when we worked for the newspaper’s photojournalism department together. I instantly knew she had a kind soul and was crazy talented, but I also high-key thought she disliked me for a loooooong time. 😂

So when she asked this Midwest wedding photographer to document her Black Friday wedding, I jumped on it, and I instantly knew everything I thought was wrong. To me, it’s already a huge honor when anyone wants me to be present for their wedding day. But when it’s a fellow photographer who wants me there? That leaves me speechless.

Steph and Steph (AKA Steph²) first got together in 2012. They really, truly grew up together. Steph asked Stephanie to be his girlfriend outside of her parents’ house, and in 2018, he asked her to marry him outside of her parents’ house.

So, fittingly, our day started at Stephanie’s parents’ house, just outside of St. Louis, MO.

We threw on some tennis shoes to battle the muddy grounds since it was just a little rainy, and we headed outside for their first look. Y’all already know by now, but man, I’m a sucker for grooms who cry during first looks.

Then, we headed to Sacred Heart Church in Eureka, Missouri, for the two to get married! This is the same place where Stephanie’s parents were married years prior.

BOOM.
Seven years later and finally married.

So we jetted over to Lafayette Park for portraits, which, TBH, it looks like a park straight out of New York City!

Then we headed over to Square One Brewery to pre-game the reception!

After a few shots, it was time to party at Sqwire’s in downtown St. Louis!

Nothing makes me happier than dads with great senses of humor, so when Tom said he wrote a speech that is one minute long for every minute that Stephanie has ever made him late…. We all died of laughter.

We danced, I only cried once, and then it was time to party!!

Thank you, Stephanie and Steph, for sharing your wedding day with me. Thank you for braving the rain with me. Thank you for trusting me with your images. Thank you for the best Black Friday wedding ever.
