Intimate Las Vegas Wedding | Chapel of the Flowers Ceremony
I have one word for this amazing wedding day – sentimental.
Lacey and Johnny first got in touch with me about 5 days before my wedding. She was SO excited to be marrying her favorite person, and she was equally excited to be booking her favorite photographer! It was clear through our email exchanges that she was just such a kind-hearted and sweet person, so I could only imagine how wonderful Johnny was!
Lacey told me very early on that she had some key family members that would be attending in spirit, so having photos of those who were present in person meant everything to her. I think it’s important to remember as wedding photographers that this job may just be one day that we work with someone, but in reality, we’re the only eyes for the couple. I often think about how monumental that responsibility is, since you as the wedding couple likely won’t have your phone on you during most of your wedding day, so you really need to trust your photographer and videographer to help you relive the day for decades to come.
Whew, okay, anyway – enough of that sentimental crap.
This day started at the Rio, just off the Strip! The Rio is one of those classic Vegas locations, especially with it being the home of Penn & Teller (which is such a fun show, by the way). Lacey and Johnny had a quick little first look inside the hotel before heading outside for their family photos. Real quick, can we talk about the dedication from their family members who all flew in for this day? Most of the people in these photos came from the Midwest, which can be quite the trek!
Soon enough, it was time to head over to the Chapel of the Flowers. This XXX chapel is so iconic as it offers such a lovely backdrop for a sweet ceremony, with plenty of room for all of your guests to watch excitedly!
The sweet moments throughout this day were abundant, and before we knew it, it was time to head out to the Las Vegas desert for some sweet and intimate sunset portraits!
A gorgeous newlywed couple? Check.
Some badass leather jackets? Check.
A killer sunset, empty desert, and wind for days? Check, check, check!
This dreamy day was so perfect and sentimental, and I definitely couldn’t have asked for a better first-wedding-of-the-year!
