Romantic Traditional Wedding Day at Emerson Fields

Y’ALL.

I’m so freakin’ excited to finally share these images. Zach and Marissa’s story is.. well… incredible.

These two met on Tinder and hit it off instantly.

If you remember way back from a year ago, Zach and I planned a super secret mission to surprise Marissa with a proposal, complete with this Las Vegas wedding photographer. He proposed on their third anniversary, and they were married just a short year later. 😍

Their wedding day started at the stunning venue, Emerson Fields. The majority of their details were put together by two aunts! It’s crazy what talents come out when family comes together. Zach wrote Marissa a handful of letters for her to read throughout the day. So, yes, I started tearing up instantly. Zach’s cufflinks are super special, as they’ve been passed down for generations. These kinds of details are what matter most to me, and to the families I get to document.

Once the happy couple was ready, it was time for one of my favorite parts of the day, the private vow exchange.

Pro tip: this is an amazing alternative for not doing a first look, and still spending time together without seeing each other before the wedding.

And then OF COURSE dad needed to see his baby before walking her down the aisle. I cried some more. It’s fine.

Before we knew it, it was time to walk down the aisle! After the I do’s, it was time to party.

The ladies of Gather & Co. and the folks at Emerson Fields cranked out an amazing room change while we shot all of these photos – they nailed it!!

So. This day was extra emotional for everyone involved. About two months before the wedding, Zach’s maternal grandmother had passed. We knew she was there in spirit with us, and her details were everywhere, so when it came time to celebrate her, we did in the best way we knew how – by dancing on a table and singing her praises upwards. It’s these moments right here that remind me why I’m so lucky to be a Las Vegas wedding photographer, and how lucky I am to be let into people’s most intimate moments. I cannot thank the Carmichael family enough for allowing me to be part of this day.

We dried our tears and rallied for round two of the party, knowing she was there, cheering us on!

What. A. Day.

Thank you, Zach and Marissa, for sharing your day with me. I’m truly honored to have had the opportunity to document a love story like yours.
