My Favorite Save the Date and Wedding Invitations

Alright y’all. Having photographed hundreds of weddings, I’ve seen a zillion different save the date and wedding invitations designs. But there’s a new kid on the block that’s making waves in this niche with some really fun and eclectic designs that I wish I had known about when I ordered my own save the dates!

Basic Invite has some really neat features that couples should absolutely be aware of. The whole thing with this company is that everything is actually customizable, making it so much easier to match your printed products to your wedding aesthetic. Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows couples almost unlimited color options with instant previews online. You can change the color of each element on a card, with over 180 different color options. The card can be exactly how you want it, down to the littlest detail, which definitely sets them apart from any other online stationery company! As a side note, if any of my summer wedding couples wanted to order the sunflower save the date for a wedding products, I’d be so stoked to photograph them. Just look how cute they are!

If you’re concerned with making sure your printed products match your wedding aesthetic, you’re in luck, because this company actually will send you free samples of their products, and you can create a fully customized wedding website with all of your wedding information, photos, as well as maps for your guests. They’re also mobile-friendly, and they can be designed to match your printed products.

Another neat feature besides all of the custom colors is the fun cut-out shapes they offer, so you don’t have to be like me and send a standard rectangle-shaped Save the Date – you can send something that looks like it was custom-made by a boutique, while still saving money by ordering in bulk.

As someone who’s also planning a wedding during a pancetta, I know first hand how much easier it is if I have fewer moving parts to think about. I don’t want to have to find a vendor for each printed item I might need. This is where Basic Invite comes into play. Each of their wedding invitations is part of a set. They have all the wedding stationery you might need, like save the dates, wedding invitations, enclosure cards, wedding menus, wedding programs, and even matching thank you cards! Talk about making it simple, right?

Speaking of, they’ll also collect your guests’ addresses for you. All you have to do is send your guests a link for them to fill out their information, and then Basic Invite handles the rest for you. From there, they’ll even print your envelopes for free, so you don’t have to hand-write all of those addresses later.

I know what you’re probably thinking – how could they make this any easier? Well, they can, and they did by launching their “Seal & Send” line of wedding invitations. They’re an all-in-one wedding invitation with a tear-off RSVP postcard included! Currently, these types of invitations are offered in more than 30 designs, including the super popular foil options, and, of course, they are customizable. What's special about the Seal & Sends is that guest's addresses are printed on the front of each invitation, so no envelope is necessary (which means you’re saving trees!). All you have to do is share a link like I mentioned above, collect guest addresses, and upload them onto your design. Once you receive your order from Basic Invite, all you have to do is add postage, fold your invites, and secure them with a sticker! It’s almost too easy at this point haha.

All in all, if you’re looking for a one-stop shop, Basic Invite is where you need to be. Happy planning!
