Summery Mount Charleston Engagement Session | Las Vegas, NV
Say hello to another couple I stalked on social media.
Julia and Casey got engaged in Hawaii in late 2019. Julia posted these incredibly lovely photos of the moment Casey got down on one knee in front of a beautiful waterfall. I saw these photos on instagram and thought it was the sweetest thing in the world. I followed and congratulated her, not thinking anything of it!
A few months later, she posts on her stories looking for recommendations for Southern California wedding photographers, videographers, florists, and a bunch of other vendors. So I did what anyone would do and straight up slid into those DMs.
We chatted for a long time about their vision for the day and how they wanted it to be such an intimate-feeling day, even if they had a ton of guests there. It was going to be super family oriented and focused on what’s truly important – their relationship!
We decided to hold their engagement session on sunny Mount Charleston in the middle of the summer. The best part of Las Vegas is the variety of photo spots we have, so even if you’re dreading that mid-summer desert heat, we can just head up the mountain where it’s automatically 30º cooler. Mount Charleston is also extra fun because there will usually be snow on the mountain from November to May, so we really get it all here!
We frolicked all around the meadows in Mount Charleston and enjoyed the golden glowing light as it washed over the dark green forest, ending their session with a super fun champagne pop with a bottle from their favorite Southern California winery!
A few weeks ago, Julia and I talked about their wedding plans, and they decided for safety reasons to move up their wedding to a new date and just have their immediate families there. She told me they’re super attached to Lake Tahoe, as they used to live their during the early part of their relationship. So we changed everything up, and they’ll be getting married on their anniversary in their favorite place! Stay tuned for those incredible elopement photos!
Are you obsessed with the greenery of Mount Charleston and want your photos done there? Let me know so we can get you on my calendar!
