Romantic LGBTQ Destination Wedding

Kansas City has my whole heart.

Maybe I’m biased because I’m from Kansas City, but seriously. You will never find a cooler city filled with people who are kind and caring and fiercely proud of their city.

Kelly and Alison are two such people.

These two were some of the sweetest people who were lucky in love with each other. What’s better, they genuinely cared for all of the people around them – to the point where they required their guests and vendors to be vaccinated against the ‘vid to protect everyone there!

Their day started at the beautifully stunning Hotel Indigo in downtown Kansas City, which is housed in a building dating from the 1930s. The ladies each got ready with their favorite people in separate rooms, and they read handwritten letters from each other. Everyone cried, including the visual team. It’s fine. They had a beautiful, private room where they finally got to embrace before saying yes to forever, and we jetted off to the nearby Loose Park for their formal photos.

It had rained on and off all week, but we got lucky with a clear break in the weather during their portrait time. The lush greenery surrounding them framed their colors perfectly, and we had a blast while dodging puddles of water.

As these two said, “I do,” the sun peeked out to grace them with a beautiful sunset on their perfect day. They celebrated with their signature drinks as we danced all around The Harlow. The industrial chic vibes matched their morning at Hotel Indigo, so I’m sure you can see how much of a photographer’s dream it was! The night seemed to fly by as we danced, toasted, and laughed for hours! Talk about the perfect start to a beautiful marriage!
