Listen. You know the rule – when you know, you know.

These two? They just knew.

Evan had just come off of a year of not dating anyone and slowly began to dip his toe into the world of online dating. He met Cathy through a mutual acquaintance and asked her honest opinion of his dating profile. Her response?

“I would not swipe right on you.”

Nothing like a big ol’ shut down – oh, followed by Cathy giving Evan covid – to begin a lifetime of love!!! (Obviously, it worked out)

Fast forward through a few months of dating, and they each knew they had met their match. Evan moved in during their quarantine together and just never moved out, and thus began the planning for the rest of their lives. It’s truly magical the way the universe brings people together!

To celebrate their engagement, they wanted to show off their hometown and hit up all of their old haunts, so what better way to do so than relive their first date spot, first kiss spot, and visit their sweet furbabies?

We started the evening in their beautiful home with Vincenzo, Viviana, Leo, Lily, and of course, some champagne. We shortly headed over to their first date spot: a dive bar called Barnacles. I’m sure you can see the dichotomy between the vibes of their house and the vibes of this bar, but hey – whatever brings true love together! After a shot and a beverage, we waltzed down to Hermosa Beach where they had their first kiss to catch the sunset. As you can see, it was an absolutely insane sunset that we caught!

We ended the night with Evan risking his life to suplex Cathy into the ocean, which made for the sweetest “falling for you” Instagram post. Overall, this night was one of the best ever, and it truly shows how important it is to pick a location that’s meaningful in your relationship for your engagement session!
